The beautiful resort of Vars is a must visit for extreme winter sports lovers. It’s spread over 4 villages and offers lots of different activities for all visitors! You can relax in one of the fantastic spa’s or enjoy a wide variety of different winter sports.
Extreme Sports
There is a freestyle area spread over 8 hectares and situated at 2400m for extreme skiers and snowboarders to enjoy and from the 27th January 2010 – 1st February visitors to Vars can enjoy the ‘coupe de monde de ski de vitesse’, which is the world cup of speed skiing.
The Ski Area
The resort is linked to Risoul and to the Foret Blanche ski area – offering 185km of slopes. At the moment around 90% of the domain is open, meaning you have plenty of choice of where to ski! There’s currently 145cm of snow on the lower half of the mountains and around 215cm of fresh snow on the top. So enjoy an action packed winter getaway this year in Vars!
