The residence has been recently renovated and is made up of studios for 4 people and apartments with 2 rooms for 6 people. The decoration is welcoming and warm, many of the apartments have a balcony available. The residence is located 600m away from the centre of the ski station Alpe d’Huez and only 100m from a food shop.

Under the Belambra brand, the residence includes services like a baby kit, drapes and there is an on site ski hire for use on the slopes. Wi-Fi Internet is available for free at the reception.

For a small fee you can also get cleaning services, parking, shopping delivered to you, packages (e.g. meals) and materials. Various services to make your ski holiday as fun and easy as possible!

On the 9th of April you can find the cheapest price at Chamrousse in the Northern Alps for €99/£84* for an all inclusive (apartment and ski pass) deal. La Norma, in the Northern Alps has the cheapest apartment for 102€/£86** on the 8th of January and regularly features on the low cost list with prices up to 142€/£120 on the 5th of February.

Due to the 2010/11 calendar where both Christmas and New Year’s land on weekends, retailers are offering a “low-cost” week of 7 days/6 nights from the 2nd of January. Apartments cost from La Norma 128€/£108 and all inclusive apartments are at Gresse en Vercors for 111€/£94.

During the Christmas period there is a 9 day/ 8 night offer from the 18th of December. Apartments for 4 people are from 153€/£130 in La Toussuire, Northern Alps and all inclusive deals start from 159€/£135 in Gresse en Vercors, Northern Alps. Although there are good deals they are mainly aimed at families and people without children may prefer to go at a different time.

Where to go skiing?

The winter holidays, from the 12th of February, have apartment offers in La Grave/ La Meije (254€/£215) or apartment and ski passes for 192€/£163 in Gresse en Vercors, they are both in the Northern Alps. The Easter holidays, are more affordable and more practical as it is a 2 week holiday. During the first week (9/04/11) La Norma (128€/£108 for apartments) and Chamrousse (99€/£84 for all inclusive) has the cheapest prices. On the second week, 16/04/11, La Norma is once again the cheapest apartment (128€/£108) and Valmeinier, Northern Alps has offers for 159€ or £135.

On average, you will find the best deals in the Pyrenees (387€ or £328), then Vosges et Jura (396€/£336 per week for 4 people), Auvergne (397€ or £336), the Southern Alps (452€ or £383) and finally the Northern Alps (592€ or £502).

When to go skiing?

The cheapest offer altogether is at Les Coches, Northern Alps for €54/£46* on the 23^rd of April 2011, however snow quality may be low as it is late in the season. La Norma, also in the Northern Alps offers apartments from 102€/£86** on the 8^th of January to 141€/£119 on the 5^th of February, featuring on the low cost list a total of 9 times.

Although there is a large variety of apartments, all inclusive (accommodation and ski lift pass) could be a better choice. Both La Norma (29/01/11) and Chamrousse, Northern Alps (09/04/11) offer the lowest prices of 99€/£84. Due to the 2010/11 calendar where both Christmas and New Year’s land on weekends, retailers are offering a “low-cost” week of 7 days/6 nights from the 2nd of January. Apartments cost from 125€/£105 in Arreau, Pyrenees and all inclusive apartments are at Gresse en Vercors for 111€/£94.

Some companies are offering a 9 day/8 night week during the Christmas period. Four person apartments are from 153€/£129 (La Toussuire, Northern Alps from the 18/12/2010) and all inclusive are from 159€/£134 all inclusive in Gresse en Vercors, Northern Alps. Groups of friends and families without children may want to avoid this period as places may be limited.

Where to go skiing?

During the winter holidays, the destinations with the most attractive offers are in the Northern Alps (From the 12th of February- 221€ or £187 per person per week including ski lifts at Gresse en Vercors).

If you go during the Easter holidays its cheaper at La Norma 125€/£106 the first week (9/04/11) or an apartment at Saint Jean D’arves (137€/£116) the second week (16/04/11). However you may be better off with the all inclusive deals 99 €/£84 at Chamrousse, Northern Alps on the 9th but 159€/£134 in Valmeinier, Northern Alps.

On average, you will find the best deals in the Pyrenees (390€ or £329), then Vosges et Jura (397€/£335 per week for 4 people), Auvergne (415€ or £351), the Southern Alps (456€ or £385) and finally the Northern Alps (600€ or £507)

Where and when to go for the cheapest ski holiday?

Ski Express, the ski holiday comparison site launches their cheap ski holiday barometer.

Why have a barometer?

Ski Express, has been comparing ski holidays from top professional for the last 5 years. It allows Internet surfers to find ski holidays for the best prices by comparing apartment rentals, hotels, all inclusive holidays and ski equipment hire from over 30 well known retailers. The consumer looking for a winter sports holiday will be able to find the cheapest dates and destinations for their holiday from the widest range of ski holidays available.

This barometer, which compares over 200,000 offers and is updated regularly, continues the service that Ski Express has been providing: to offer visitors a clear and thorough choice that allows them to compare offers objectively using specific criteria.

When to go skiing?

Understandably, the most attractive offers are during term time, however due to the unusual 2011 calendar professionals have been incited to offer a “low cost” week of 7days/6 nights on the 2^nd of January 2011 at prices that defy usual trends: on average accommodation and ski lift pass will be 270€* which is about £238** per person during this period and, more importantly, 4 person apartments can be found from 112€/£99 (in Arvieux, Southern Alps).

However, on average the cheapest weeks will be: in January, on the 8^th (258€/£227 for accommodation + ski lift pass based on 4 sharing) and in March, from the 26^th (285€/£253 for accommodation + ski lift for 4 people). On these dates apartments can be found from 122€/£107 per week at Saint Colomban de Villards (Northern Alps) and 120€/£106 at Loudenvielle (Pyrenees).

During the school holidays it is best to go at Christmas (18^th-26^th December 2010) as there’s not only a deal of 9 days/8 nights being offered by most retailers, this period also has the best offers: 325€/£286 on average for accommodation with ski lift and 4 person apartments from 153€/£135 (La Toussuire, Northern Alps).

The best offers for the winter holidays (19^th-26^th February 2011) are in Evian, Northern Alps (340€/£299) for a 4 person apartment and in Gresse en Vercors, Northern Alps (224€/£197) accommodation + ski lift; Therefore it may be better to opt for the package as not only is it cheaper but it is also better located.

Finally, the cheapest overall price is in April, however as it is quite late in the season snow cannot be guaranteed yet; Valmorel has 4 person apartments from only 92€/£81 per person on the 23^rd of April!

Where to go skiing?

Considering the importance of their offers, notably family destinations of low and medium altitudes, the Alps regularly offer the most attractive holidays. Thus areas In the Northern Alps like Gresse en Vercors, La Norma and St Colomban de Villards, or in the Southern Alps like Superdévoluy, Puy Saint Vincent and Orcières Merlette, regularly make the list of the cheapest Top Destinations.

However, on average, the Pyrenees is the region with the lowest average price of 394€/£346 for 4 person apartments. On the other hand the average price in the Northern Alps is more than 50% more expensive (604€/£531). These average prices are 404€/£355 in Vosges et Jura, 447€/£393 in Auvergne/le massif central and 454€/£399 in the Southern Alps.

In general, you will regularly find the cheapest apartments at La Norma in the Northern Alps, where prices start from 130€/£114 over several weeks. Gresse en Vercors frequently has the most competitive packages (accommodation + ski lift pass) from 138€/£121pp on the 15^th of January 2011.
